Can I buy a home in Virginia without U.S. citizenship?
Yes. Non-citizens, including green card holders, H-1B, L-1, and even non-resident foreign nationals, can purchase property in Virginia. Mortgage options vary by visa status, but Tanveer works with lenders experienced in all these scenarios. Many families in NoVA have purchased homes while on work visas.
How much do I need for a down payment?
Less than most people think. FHA loans require just 3.5% down. Conventional loans can be as low as 3–5%. VA loans for eligible military require 0%. Do I pay Tanveer's fee as a buyer?
Typically no. The seller has traditionally paid the buyer’s agent compensation. As of 2024, the new NAR Rules require written buyer’s agency agreements up front. Tanveer will explain exactly how compensation works at the first meeting, complete transparency about every dollar.

Start with a secured credit card, use it for small purchases and pay the full balance monthly. Some lenders accept alternative credit history (rent, utilities, phone bills) for mortgage qualification.
